In this 1992 Epix issue, Bilbo and the Dwarves reach the Lonely Mountain, where Smaug’s death sets off a race for the reclaimed dragon hoard. As humans, elves, and other dwarves converge on the mountain, a sudden orc attack forces uneasy allies to stand together. With art by David Wenzel and lettering by Jan-Erik Höglund, this adaptation captures the epic stakes of Tolkien’s tale, with cover art also by Wenzel.
