As tensions rise over the strategic site, President Theodore Roosevelt takes notice, and Donald's parents, Lillegull and Didrik, meet for the first time amid the unfolding drama.

In "Skrue McDucks liv del 11: Verdens rikeste mann," Skrue reiser til Afrika with sine to søstrene, where a voodoo-høvding's refusal to sell the tribe's gummitrær sets off a chain of events that leaves him alone and pursued by a zombi. Years later, after finding the red-striped rubinen, Skrue returns home as a wealthy passenger on the Titanic—only to face a cold reception from his family, who now see a very different man than the one they once knew.

In "Skrue McDucks liv del 12: Eneboeren på Herregården," Donald and Skrue reunite after years apart, while Ole, Dole, and Doffen meet their grand-uncle for the first time. Skrue, once a retired pensioner, decides to restart his career by reopening his office and diving back into work.
