Two of the wildest anti-heroes in cult movie history collide in this six-issue BOOM! Studios crossover — the cover by Daniel Bayliss puts Jack Burton's long-haired, gun-toting swagger face-to-face with a coiled-up martial arts brawler in a mystic-dragon tank top, while the looming figures of the villainous Three Storms hover ominously above and an exploding semi roars in the background. Greg Pak scripts this unlikely mashup of Chinatown sorcery and post-apocalyptic New York grit, with Tríona Farrell's split-palette colors — cool purples for Little China, scorched yellows for the Manhattan wasteland — doing a lot of heavy lifting to keep both worlds distinct. For fans of either film, issue #1 of 6 is a genuinely fun premise that earns its audacity right on the cover.
