An old friend of a marine plans a backstage visit to see Tommy Tapp perform, but Tommy's uncle Phil has new hand grenades he hopes to sell to the War Department, and the friend instead pursues a scheme involving the post exchange to sell items to soldiers. In a separate story, Junior and Squinty set a trap to catch a burglar by using a firecracker as a decoy gun, ultimately recovering a stolen hat with the aid of a dog named Pete.
