This anthology issue contains several stories. "Big Shot" follows Peter Turner's presentation of an atomic engine capable of interplanetary travel to the Academy of Science, where he must convince skeptical colleagues of its viability while dealing with concerns about the technology's potential misuse. A comedic tale depicts a sailor's romantic misadventure when he attempts to win back a sweetheart but is thwarted by the woman's new suitor, resulting in a chaotic beach confrontation. Another story involves detectives investigating dog-nappers who are stealing pets for a humane society, using a recognized dog as evidence to identify the criminals and expose their operations.
