Big Shot #35 is an anthology featuring two main stories. The lead story follows a dog named Big Shot whose owner, Mott, uses him to earn money by driving him back to rural folks, collecting fees for the service—a scheme that backfires when Big Shot refuses to enter a truck and escapes, leading to comedic chaos as various characters attempt to recapture him. The second story, "Dixie Dugan" by Striebel and McEvoy, depicts Dixie's decision to stop renting rooms to tourists and her attempts to take down a sign advertising her guest home, with assistance from a passing carpenter who helps her put up a new sign instead.
