Big Bang Comics #6 brings the "Criss-Cross Crisis!" to Image in 1996, with a cover by the accomplished team of Curt Swan (pencils) and Murphy Anderson (inks). The scene is immediately arresting: a hulking red armored villain hoists two blue-and-gold Ultmen by their capes, declaring himself the mightiest being on two worlds — both heroes dangling helplessly as the surrounding character portraits of Ultman, Dr. Weird, the Blitz, the Beacon, Human Sub, Knight Watchman, Thunder Girl, and Venus hint at the sprawling cast caught up in this interdimensional showdown. It's a wonderfully retro superhero cover that wears its Silver Age heart proudly on its sleeve.
