Beware the Creeper #5

Cliff Chiang's striking cover for this October 2003 Vertigo finale delivers an immediate jolt: a dark-clad woman with a yellow face and blazing red hair plunges headfirst against a vivid crimson background, her mouth open in a scream, fist raised defiantly. A tall, ornate blue figure looms to the left while a lone silhouette stands small in the middle distance, lending the scene an unsettling sense of scale and menace. Writer Jason Hall and artist Cliff Chiang close out "Act V" with all the stylish noir tension this Vertigo series has carried throughout its run.
