Bettie Page: Unbound #4

Bettie Page goes full fairy-tale fantasy on the cover of Unbound #4, rendered here by penciler John Royle and inker Jagdish Kumar — she's reimagined as a luminous fairy in a leafy costume, wings shimmering with blue magic as she perches confidently atop a leering, mustachioed pirate villain whose hook and tricorn hat frame the scene with swashbuckling menace. The glowing wand in her hand and the burst of golden light crackling nearby suggest she's very much holding her own against this oversized threat. With writer David Avallone and artist Julius Ohta steering the series, this 2019 Dynamite issue promises a wildly inventive genre-hopping adventure that lives up to its "Unbound" title.
