The final issue of this 2012 Boom! Studios miniseries arrives with a cover by Gabriel Hardman that sets an appropriately grim tone — a helmeted gorilla soldier looms large in the background while a battered, bloodied human figure stands defiantly in the foreground, blade in hand. The stark contrast between the imposing ape authority and the wounded but unbowed human captures exactly the kind of tension the Betrayal title promises. With Corinna Bechko and Hardman co-writing and Jordie Bellaire's moody colors deepening every shadow, this concluding chapter looks like a fitting payoff to the series.
