Ben Barbary Bushranger #4

This anthology issue contains "The Story of the Kaloobra Diamond" featuring Ben Barbary Bushranger, in which Benjamin Barbary, an Englishman who came to the Australian goldfields, is wrongly imprisoned and sentenced to serve in a chain gang, but escapes with a convict called Tiddler and roams the countryside; after a brush with the Frampton Gang, Ben proves his innocence and is promoted to commissioner, promising pardons to Tiddler and Amos for their help in rounding up the gang, with all three eventually working as scouts for the police. The issue also includes "Vesta the Vesuvian: The Girl from the Volcanic Kingdom," in which Vesta and Donald attempt to recover stolen papers from a French attaché at a house in Bloomsbury while police elsewhere investigate a strange tank-like creature that has broken through a bank wall, leading to confusion and pursuit through London.
