Baru brings his signature warmth and draftsmanship to the second volume of Bella Ciao, published by Futuropolis in 2021. The cover sets a wonderfully relaxed, sun-bleached mood: a young man perches casually on a pale Vespa scooter, one leg crossed over the other, raising what appears to be a small accordion or squeeze-box instrument to his lips. The minimalist cream background and loose, expressive linework give the image a quietly confident charm that makes this volume very easy to pick up.
