The cover of this second issue from Image fills its right half with an imposing close-up of a horned Viking helmet, its wearer's dark, wild beard and single visible eye radiating grim intensity — snowflakes or ash drifting across the weathered metal. Sean Lewis and Jonathan Marks Barravecchia bring a raw, almost painterly energy to this series, and that blood-spattered title treatment sets the tone perfectly.
