Battlefront #31

Atlas Comics' Battlefront #31 (May 1955) puts you right in the thick of it with a gritty cover by Russ Heath, depicting two helmeted GIs in urgent mid-stride — one passing off a wounded comrade while shouting "O.K., pal… you take over now! I got a job to finish!" as smoke billows and a tank rolls through the chaos behind them. A third soldier rushes up from the foreground, rifle in hand, against a backdrop of shell-churned terrain and an ominous purple sky. Featuring the stories "No Man's Land!" and "Prisoner of War!" alongside interior art by Bob Forgione and Jack Abel, this is a solid ten-cent slice of 1950s war comics done with genuine craft and tension.
