Battlefields #7
In "Motherland Part One of Three," Garth Ennis and Russ Braun launch a gripping wartime drama centered on the fiercely independent Anna Kharkova, now stationed at a front-line airfield after a demotion. Though shunned by her peers for her odd behavior—especially her private conversations with the memory of her late comrade Zoya—Anna’s resolve is tested when a sudden attack leaves her fellow pilot Merkulov shattered. The tension builds as the colonel’s quiet concern for Anna hints at something deeper, all rendered with bold, grounded storytelling and striking visuals by Garry Leach on the cover.
