Battlefield Action #53

The issue features the story "Run, Chicken, Run," in which a soldier nicknamed "Chicken Higby" attempts to prove his courage under fire. When a sergeant orders him back into combat after he breaks and runs, Higby sets up a grease gun position and successfully eliminates an enemy soldier, redeeming himself in the eyes of his unit. The medic tends to a young soldier who passes out from pain after being shot, but the major acknowledges that Higby finished the job and proved himself in battle.
