The issue features two war stories: "Gyrenes!—The Sniper," in which American fighting men face Japanese snipers during combat, and "7 Seconds to Hell," which teaches soldiers how to properly handle hand grenades as a dangerous but effective weapon. A third story follows an American soldier's reflections on brutal combat experiences in European cities, the trauma of witnessing bloodshed and death, and his reluctance to discuss the war with his son upon returning home. The final story depicts American soldiers strategically eliminating a German tank and its crew by targeting a hidden enemy sniper, ultimately succeeding through tactical coordination and the discovered skills of an experienced fighter trained in frontier warfare.
