This Atlas Comics war title from 1953 puts Pvt. "Battle" Brady front and center in a harrowing cover by Fred Kida — Brady charges forward rifle raised overhead, teeth bared in a battle cry, as sniper rounds explode all around him in bursts of white-hot debris. The tagline "What's It Like to Be 'Sniper Bait'?" makes the stakes unmistakably clear, and Kida's dynamic linework gives the whole scene a raw, kinetic urgency that ten cents bought you in full.
