“Blitzkrieg!”

"Blitzkrieg!" in Battle! #15 (1954) delivers a gripping wartime tale of duty and defiance, spotlighting Soldier Joe Bronco’s courage under fire in North Korea. When his commanding officer, Captain Steel, orders him to shave his beard—a small but deeply personal sacrifice—Bronco resents the command, yet still answers the call. The story follows his quiet resolve as he faces new dangers, ultimately proving his loyalty in a moment that tests both loyalty and leadership. Russ Heath handles both art and inks, bringing the tension to life, while Harry Anderson’s cover captures the grit of the front lines.
