Batman receives a call from Commissioner Gordon, informing him that Fred Purley (whom Gordon helped jail) has been paroled, and has made threats against the Commissioner. The Caped Crusader heads out to protect Gordon, not realizing that Gordon has been kidnapped and Purley has set a trap awaiting Batman.
