Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #70

Part two of "Criminals" arrives in this April 1995 entry in DC's Legends of the Dark Knight series, with a cover by Mike Zeck that puts Batman in an immediate, visceral struggle — he's grappling chest-to-chest with a snarling, chain-wielding opponent while a crowd of agitated prisoners surges along the cell-block tiers behind them. The raw energy of the composition captures Batman at his most physically committed, outnumbered and undeterred. Steven Grant and Mike Zeck make a compelling team for this gritty street-level arc.
