Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #64

A brooding brick wall frames a window filled with roaring flames — and pressed against the glass is a dark, shadowy figure whose hair catches the firelight in an unsettling way, suggesting someone caught between danger and desperation. Chris Bachalo and Mark Pennington's cover for this September 1994 installment of Legends of the Dark Knight is quietly arresting, letting the ominous story title "Terminus" do as much heavy lifting as the image itself.
