Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #125

Part of DC's sweeping "No Man's Land" crossover, this January 2000 issue of Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight features a gripping close-up of a weathered, intense Batman — cowl pushed back slightly, jaw set, eyes fierce — framed against a green background with the pointed challenge: "The Ultimate Trust — or the Ultimate Betrayal?" The cover, penciled by Jim Aparo and inked by Jesse Delperdang, captures a Dark Knight who looks like he's carried Gotham on his shoulders and isn't done yet.
