Dans le passé, un jeune garçon dont les parents ont été assassinés par le Joker, est envoyé à l'asile d'Arkham pour y être soigné. Bruce Wayne visite Arkham pour enquêter sur le traitement du jeune garçon, mais le garçon s'égare et rencontre Gueule d'Argile. Plus tard, le docteur Crane s'intéresse à lui. L’Épouvantail dirige un groupe d'orphelins au manoir Wayne pour tuer Bruce Wayne. Libéré d'Arkham, l'orphelin obtient du Pingouin un emploi au casino où il est poussé à voler par Elliot. Jason Todd apprend que le Pingouin utilise des orphelins, ce qui conduit à une confrontation.
