Batgirl surges forward in a battered costume, red hair flowing, her expression tense and determined — and looming behind her in eerie green are the shadowy faces of the Joker and the Riddler, surrounded by enormous question marks. The tagline "The What! The Who! The Why!" promises some serious answers as this five-part arc, "The Bat & The Cat," reaches its conclusion. Writer Fabian Nicieza and artist Kevin Maguire bring the story to a close in this November 2008 issue, and the cover alone makes a compelling case that Batgirl has been through the wringer to get here.
