In "Book One" of *Batman: City of Madness*, Christian Ward delivers a haunting, self-contained chapter where Batman’s latest confrontation with Two-Face uncovers a disturbing third presence within the villain. As a sudden sinkhole exposes a long-buried undercity, the Court of Owls awakens to a terrifying truth—their ancient prison holds a twisted, dark reflection of Batman, and now that it’s free, the city’s oldest secrets are rising. With art, writing, and full creative control by Christian Ward, the cover by Ward captures the eerie tension of a Gotham fractured beneath its own surface.
