Batman Beyond Universe #2

A massive, anguished figure dominates the center of this November 2013 cover, arms thrown wide and shouting "Stay Away!" as a Green Lantern hovers above and a chaotic melee of heroes — including a woman in red and a dark-clad figure at the foreground — surges around him. The Batman Beyond Universe anthology series expands the animated future-DC world well beyond Gotham, and this second issue, subtitled "Power Struggle: Ghosts of the Past," promises exactly the kind of large-scale superhero conflict that cover artist Khary Randolph renders here with tremendous kinetic energy. With Christos Gage writing and Iban Coello on interior art, this is a rich slice of the Beyond universe firing on all cylinders.
