Dark Horse's Barstow continues its unsettling desert-noir with a cover that doesn't flinch: a lone figure in a rumpled jacket leans over a spreading pool of blood, poking at something grotesque on a medical cart while crimson erupts across the wall behind him — and a thin curl of smoke rises almost peacefully through the chaos. David Ian McKendry, Rebekah McKendry, Tyler Jenkins, and Justin Birch are clearly not interested in playing it safe. If issue #1 left you curious where this strange, visceral series was headed, this 2025 follow-up suggests the answer is somewhere deeply unsettling.
