In "King for a Day," Dizzy Duck becomes an unexpected ruler when he is mistaken for royalty and treated as a king by various officials, who keep summoning him for official duties including signing documents, making speeches, launching a ship, and reviewing troops. Meanwhile, in a secondary story, a pig character goes fishing at a dark pool and catches an unusually large fish, boasting about the record-breaking trout until the fish is revealed to be much bigger than expected. A third story features crooks attempting to break into a bulldog's house at night, but the dog—identified as "Golly"—thwarts their burglary plans and chases them away.
