☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis anthology issue features multiple animal-themed stories. One story follows Dizzy Duck, who initially refuses to play football but eventually joins the team after performing an impressive backflip, only to cause chaos during a game and later get caught up in mischief involving stolen candy and corn. Another story depicts a pup ice skating on a frozen pond, attempting a double figure eight but crashing instead. The issue also includes Dubble Bubble gum advertisements and a Dizzy Duck sequence where he struggles to open a jar of pickles and later visits an aquarium.
Dizzy Duck gets hired as a helper by a persistent salesman trying to unload Wizz-O skates in a tough town, and the two scheme their way through increasingly wild—and wildly unsuccessful—attempts to get Percy Pigg to buy a pair. As their schemes grow more elaborate and chaotic, Dizzy discovers there's a reason Percy keeps saying no, and the real payoff comes in the most unexpected way possible.
Snoozer's chronic napping habit finally catches up with him when Percy Pigg threatens to fire him for sleeping on the job, so Dizzy Duck hatches a scheme: carve a wooden statue of Snoozer to stand guard at the barn while the real watchman sneaks off for some rest. What starts as a clever plan to fool the boss quickly unravels when Percy's suspicions—and a well-placed kick—turn everything upside down.
Percy Pigg is desperate for sleep and willing to pay a hundred dollars to anyone who can help—but his well-meaning pal Dizzy Duck's attempts to lull him under (lullabies, rocking chairs, bedtime stories) backfire spectacularly. When Dizzy finally tries a recording of nature sounds, the results prove far more chaotic than anyone bargained for in "Sleepy Time," a comic from the golden age of funny animals.
When Billy Bull agrees to ditch his conscience at Dizzy Duck's urging, he quickly discovers that doing whatever he wants—stealing corn, smashing windows, terrorizing the town—leads him straight into serious trouble with a gang of genuine outlaws. Billy's wild rampage through the barnyard and beyond spirals into genuine danger, forcing him to confront what he's lost and what he might still regain.
