Barney Google and Snuffy Smith #4
In "The Jet Setter," letter carrier Uriah faces his worst nightmare: a harrowing trek through the hills to deliver the Smith family’s mail, all while dreading the sudden, unpredictable arrival of Snuffy’s legendary dog, Bullet. Just when he thinks he’s made it safely to the mailbox, the tension ratchets up—because the real danger hasn’t passed. Written and illustrated by Fred Lasswell, this 1970 Charlton comic captures the quiet absurdity and rural suspense of the strip, with Lasswell’s distinctive art bringing every nervous glance and near-miss to life. The cover, also by Lasswell, perfectly captures the moment of impending chaos.
