A lazy prehistoric picnic turns chaotic on Fred Himes's cover for this 1975 Charlton issue, where a startled blue bird dive-bombs poor Barney while Fred looks on with wide-eyed alarm, their picnic basket and blanket spread out nearby. Betty and Wilma react with concern in the background, while a bird's nest perches ominously in the tree above — all of it promising the kind of good-natured Stone Age slapstick that made this series a treat. With "Close Shave" as the interior story, issue #16 delivers another all-new Rubble family adventure at a classic 25-cent price.
