When Lille Skutt goes missing and a ransom note demands 100 kronor from Bamse, suspicion quickly falls on the cunning Vargen. But with help from Skalman, Bamse follows the trail to a hollow oak—only to uncover a hidden passage leading straight to Vargen’s secret lair, where the fox is counting his ill-gotten gains.

When Skalman invents a mysterious "skumposin" and can't figure out what it does, he convinces Bamse to test it—only for the device to launch Bamse high into the air, shattering mid-flight. Left stranded on a cliff ledge, Bamse must rely on a helpful mountain goat to make his way down.
