Bad Ass #3

Bad Ass #3 from Dynamite Entertainment assembles a wonderfully eclectic cast on its cover — front and center stand a snake-emblemed villain in black-and-gold armor and a sharp-dressed woman with a mask and violin, framed by a giant red heart bearing a skull, with a flaming basketball spinning overhead. Flanking them is a parade of wild characters: a raccoon in a suit, a white-haired figure in a cape, blue-skinned beings, and assorted masked oddballs that suggest this series revels in gleefully absurd superhero-villain mayhem. Bruno Bessadi's linework (with colors by Gaétan Georges) gives the whole ensemble a lively, slightly unhinged energy that makes this 2014 Dynamite release genuinely hard to put down unread.
