Backlash #4 (1995) delivers a sharp blend of action and tension as the team returns to New York after a narrow escape, only to find themselves in the middle of a new mission. With Void’s teleportation landing them back in the city’s heart, Backlash and Taboo share a night that blurs lines—both personal and tactical—before diving into the high-stakes infiltration of the Waering Enterprises Building. Written by Sean Ruffner, Jeff Mariotte, and Brett Booth, with art by Brett Booth and inks by Trevor Scott, Sandra Hope, and Edwin Rosell, the issue unfolds with a grounded edge and rising stakes, all while the cover by Brett Booth and Trevor Scott captures the moment’s intensity.

After S'yrn and Pike make good their escape, Void teleports Backlash and his allies home to New York (and out of the grasp of the Savage Dragon who wants to arrest them). Backlash and Taboo spend an evening out on the town which leads to a night in the sack. The pair later infiltrate the Waering Enterprises Building looking for a virtual reality machine that will help them track down S'yrn, little realizing that the building is being guarded by Backlash's old Team 7 buddy, Dane.
