Doc Brown and Marty McFly are behind bars — literally — in this IDW series installment, both dressed in prison orange and gripping the cell bars with wide-eyed, open-mouthed panic. The prisoner number "1885" on Doc's jumpsuit sets the temporal stakes nicely, and the scratched graffiti on the wall behind them only deepens the sense of desperate confinement. "Hard Time, Part 1" kicks off what looks like a genuinely tense new arc, brought to life with expressive, kinetic cover art by Marcelo Ferreira.
