The second issue of John Byrne's Babe miniseries from Dark Horse's Legend imprint drops our red-haired heroine and a panicked companion right into the clutches of something enormous and deeply unsettling — that massive, bulging alien eye dominating the cover says all you need to know about what they're up against. Byrne's cover art frames the two figures scrambling across twisted metallic wreckage, the creature's textured, monstrous form looming over them with an almost suffocating closeness. With a story titled "B.E.M.S." and this much creature-feature energy on display, issue two of this four-part 1994 series promises the kind of pulpy, sci-fi-tinged adventure Byrne was clearly relishing.
