Azrael: Agent of the Bat #61

Part of the sprawling "No Man's Land" crossover, this February 2000 installment puts Azrael front and center in his striking red-and-blue armored suit, lunging toward the viewer with one gloved hand thrust forward and his long blonde hair whipping wildly behind him — an explosion of light and debris erupting at his back. Roger Robinson and James Pascoe deliver a cover full of kinetic urgency, capturing a hero hurling himself headlong into the chaos of a shattered Gotham. With Dennis O'Neil scripting "Presents of Mind," this is a solid chapter in one of DC's most ambitious Batman-universe events of 2000.
