Azrael #3
The dark mystique of Azrael's solo series continues with issue #3, and Barry Kitson and James Pascoe's cover delivers an atmosphere thick with menace and ceremony — the armored, hooded figure of Azrael looms at center, gauntleted fists gripping a blazing sword above an ornate torch, while a mysterious red-clad woman watches from the shadows to his right, and skulls, glowing orbs, and richly patterned archways fill the surrounding space with an almost ritualistic grandeur. Dennis O'Neil's chapter, "The Proposition," promises exactly the kind of morally complex storytelling this character invites. For fans of moody, atmospheric mid-90s DC work, this is a compelling entry in Azrael's ongoing saga.
