From Romain Pujol and Vincent Caut, this BD Kids album sends Avni — the wide-eyed, blue cartoon creature — bursting from a starburst explosion right at the reader, grinning with boundless mischief. Scattered all around in delightful chaos are a cast of colorful characters: a dapper villain in a top hat riding a vehicle, a flustered businessman losing his belongings, a grumpy figure wrestling a toothy blue monster, and a small robot-like companion tumbling through the air. Une boule d'énergie ("A Ball of Energy") is exactly the right subtitle for this 2022 entry in the series — the cover practically hums with kinetic fun.
