Avengers #24

A menacing green-armored figure dominates this 2012 Marvel cover, claws raised and reactor glowing, with the unmistakable smirk of someone who's stolen more than just a suit — behind him, a determined group including Ms. Marvel, Venom, Spider-Man, and a katana-wielding figure in black stand ready to challenge him. Daniel Acuña's artwork splits the composition brilliantly between a crimson-shadowed background teeming with armored soldiers and the cool darkness where the Avengers assemble, creating an atmosphere of real tension. Writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Acuña make issue #24 a visually striking entry in this run.
