Bryce runs a rogue FBI operation dedicated to neutralizing paranormal beings. He gives Onyx the order to kill Avengelyne and Onyx appears to assassinate Avengelyne. Then Bryce's rogue FBI squad attempts to terminate Onyx, but discover that the assassination of Avengelyne was faked. Onyx has learned of Bryce's plans when she planted a bug on Argent in a previous encounter. Onyx and Avengelyne eliminate the squad, then go after Bryce and Argent.
