“'Spacious' Rooms for Rent”

In "Spacious Rooms for Rent," con man Boyce Haskell finds his luck turning strange after a cryptic fortune from the Old Gypsy promises his wealth will "go a long way." As he leverages borrowed money into a web of shady deals—dragging his friend Bill into a doomed apartment scheme—his schemes unravel in the most unexpected way. Written by Joe Gill and illustrated by Pat Masulli, with a striking cover by Steve Ditko, this 1972 Alan Class tale spins a surreal, offbeat story of greed, consequence, and a fortune that literally takes flight.
