This volume collects the 1974 story 'Asterix and Caesar's Gift,' in which a discharged Roman legionnaire receives a plot of land in the Gaulish village as a parting gift from Julius Caesar, leading to a clash between the Romans and the indomitable Gauls. Written by René Goscinny and illustrated by Albert Uderzo, this edition was published by Dargaud Canada as part of the classic Asterix series.
