Part of Hachette's La Grande Collection hardcover reprint series, this oversized 2012 edition of Le Devin showcases René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo's beloved Gaulish duo at their most entertaining. Uderzo's cover art tells an immediate story: a composed, arms-folded Astérix stands apart while the entire terrified village — Obélix and a colorful crowd of recognizable Gauls — scrambles away in a panic from a pair of enormous green claw-marks. The large-format presentation gives Uderzo's expressive linework and vibrant colors the generous breathing room they deserve, making this a very satisfying way to revisit a fan-favorite album.
