IDW's Black Crown imprint kicks off Assassinistas with a cover that immediately establishes two distinct worlds colliding: in the foreground, a pink-mohawked punk and a young man with a thumbs-up look on with wide-eyed admiration at a larger-than-life poster behind them depicting three formidable women — one in military cap taking aim with a sniper rifle, one dual-wielding pistols with a bold afro and confident grin, and one masked in a half-face helmet and brandishing a blade. Gilbert Hernandez's clean, retro-inflected linework gives the whole image a playful yet stylish energy that feels right at home in the Black Crown stable. With writer Tini Howard and letterer Aditya Bidikar rounding out the creative team, "Dominic Price and the Semester Abroad" looks like a genuinely fun blend of domestic life and high-octane action.
