Arsenio Lupin #1
In "La bella viudita Coquelin," Arsenio Lupin answers a call from Janet Coquelin after stumbling upon a man—Andrés, his old friend—mistreating her dog on the beach. His quick intervention earns him an invitation to a lavish party aboard her yacht, where he sees his next opportunity: a scheme to pull off a daring jewelry heist using a forged $100,000 check. With Andrés by his side, Arsenio sets the stage for a swift, high-stakes con—then vanishes into the sky, leaving behind only the echoes of his clever deception. The story, illustrated by Danilo Sevilla, captures the charm and wit of Arsenio’s world in a 1972 tale from Editorial Novaro.
