From Dynamite Entertainment's 2009 one-shot comes this wonderfully absurd mashup that only comics could pull off. Todd Nauck's cover puts Ash — chainsaw hand raised, boomstick at the ready — back-to-back with a suit-and-red-tie-clad Barack Obama, who clutches documents with calm, presidential resolve while an overwhelming horde of groaning deadites closes in around them beneath an American flag. It's a gleefully over-the-top premise rendered with real craft, and Nauck's linework gives both the heroic duo and the shambling undead crowd a lively, kinetic energy that makes this first issue impossible to pass up.
