Archie's Weird Mysteries #6
In "A Familiar Old Haunt (Chapter I)," Jughead and Betty encounter a mysterious hermit whose shadow warns them of a lurking leaf monster. When Archie and Veronica spot the creature through a window, a chase begins—only for the sheriff to arrive and reveal that strange monsters have been appearing since the school opened. As the gang begins echoing odd catchphrases like "Jinkies!" and "Zoinks!" and even Hot Dog starts muttering "RUH-ROH!", the mystery deepens. Written by Paul Castiglia and illustrated by Fernando Ruiz, with inks by Rich Koslowski, colors by Rick Taylor, and letters by Vickie Williams, this 1.99 USD comic from 2000 features a cover by Ruiz and Koslowski.
