“The Bad Penny”

In "The Bad Penny," Jughead finds himself caught in a prank war when Reggie tricks him into delivering a love note—signed only with initials—meant for Veronica Lodge. Playing along, Jughead delivers the message to V.L., unaware that the initials belong to Virginia Lumpkin, Reggie’s less glamorous date. Samm Schwartz’s expressive art brings the classic Archie charm to life, capturing the lighthearted mischief of small-town high school antics.

Reggie wants Jughead to pass a note from him to Veronica. He uses only initials so she may be more interested by thinking it is from the new boy Ray Muncy, with whom Reggie shares initials. Jughead plays a trick on Reggie by delivering the note to V.L. - not to Veronica Lodge, but to Virginia Lumpkin, a less attractive and less charming date.
